Confederate Statues Commemorate LOSERS and TRAITORS. Discuss.

All this hubbub over removing Confederate statues from American soil…I’m so confused…I mean, the people commemorated by these statues ARE NOT AMERICANS. All of them, EVERY SINGLE DAMN ONE OF THEM, denounced their citizenship to the United States of America in 1861, took a solemn vow to a completely different nation, and then took up arms against this country, killing thousands upon thousands of Americans on the battlefield, largely over their refusal to give up their right to OWN OTHER HUMAN BEINGS AS SLAVES.

The fact that, a century and a half after their humiliating defeat by the U.S., their statues still stand all over this great land, the country they hated and vowed to destroy, blows my mind. We don’t have statues of Hitler or Mussolini or Hirohito, or any of our other vanquished enemies, standing proudly on Main Street U.S.A.; Confederate figures are no different, in my opinion. They may have once been Americans, and they fought for their cause on American soil, but they were not citizens of the United States, and they were most certainly not heroes. They gave up their right to be celebrated the second they pledged allegiance to the confederate flag.

What blows my mind even further is the fact that so many so-called American Patriots, including the president, have their panties in a gigantic wad over the fact that these statues of American traitors are just now finally coming down, and are apparently ready to resort to violence to defend them. Jesus Christ man, I love this country but I sure don’t get this country sometimes. And keep your ‘states rights’ and ‘southern pride’ arguments to yourself; everybody knows this is all about one thing and one thing only: WHITE SUPREMACY. And that, my friends, is soooooo 19th Century. Let’s move on, shall we? 🇺🇲️🇺🇲️🇺🇲️🇺🇲️
