BrainstemBob Approved: Two New Documentaries

As I get older, and I am definitely getting older, I find myself watching more and more documentary films. Documentary films show us the neglected corners of the world that don’t get much attention, shining a much-deserved light on the people, places, and events from the past, present and future, and give us more insight on the human condition. Documentaries have many marvelous qualities; they can educate, enrage, and inspire us. They can move us to take action to right wrongs. They can also be incredibly entertaining. What I’m saying is, I love documentaries. Given a choice between the latest box office blockbuster or an unknown little indie documentary, I’m almost always going to choose the doc. Jingle Bell Rocks! The Movie

jinglebellrocks-title*UPDATE 12/9/14: Jingle Bell Rocks is now available on Cable VOD, Digital & DVD!!! It’s also playing in theaters around the nation throughout December! In West Michigan, it will be screening at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids December 19-23!!* As I wrote about last time, I kinda have this thing about Christmas music. I love all music, and usually have it playing all day long, and the holidays are no exception. As a kid, mom always had Christmas platters spinning on the console hi-fi, and those old records burned themselves into my brain, and they remain a vital part of our holidays to this day.
